3 Heating and Air Trends for 2018
Holiday season is well on it’s way, and at Middleton Heat and Air we’re already gearing up for the new year! As we reflect on what a great 2017 it’s been, we’re taking a look at the top three trends we’ve noticed in the Heating and Air world that we look forward to seeing some more of in 2018.
Trend 1: Smart Systems
They’ve been around for a while, but not like this. New and improved smart thermostats have been making families more comfortable, for less money, now more than ever before. Due to their increasing popularity, they have only been getting better at doing their jobs. Systems like the Nest learning thermostat can even work with other Nest smart home security devices to help keep your home cozy and safe at the same time!
Trend 2: Efficiency Awareness
Savvy homeowners know, efficiency is the key to not only maintaining your home, but also saving money. There have been lots of advances in HVAC efficiency, from quality filters to energy star rated units. Any homeowner who’s serious about efficiency is also up to date on their biannual maintenance, and knows a thing or two about merv ratings. These days, being in-the-know is easy, especially with quality online resources like our HVAC 101 series!
Trend 3: Zoned Heating and Air
“Zoned” heating and air, or HVAC systems designed to control different areas of the home separately, have been gaining popularity because of their versatility. Large homes or homes with floors or large areas that go unused for a good portion of the year benefit the most from a zoned system, because they allow you to tailor your heating and cooler to your lifestyle’s needs.
